Dec 09, 2016 · Older PCI driver will work with royal.sys and does not give BSOD on boot. Else left the hardware not installed after rollback or uninstall. Rename back the royal.bck located in \Windows\System32\Drivers\ folder to royal.sys. Restart the computer, and Vista should no longer has BSOD and will still be activated. It seems that there many folks including myself who are getting a BSOD on the reboot after trying to instal the 7.3's. I tried to go from 7.2 to 7.3 and upon 1st reboot (and from then on) got BSOD which points to an issue with WIN32K.sys.
